Birds that move cross countries tend to be most likely than others to break up with their partner, according to an analysis of 232 types.
About 90 percent of bird types are socially monogamous, implying they form couples that mostly reproduce with each other and raise offspring together. A few of these couples remain together for life, while others wind up getting “separated” and moving onto brand-new partners.
