The opening track, “SELF LOVE,” represents a conclusion of experiences and relationships going back to her early years maturing in Maryland. “All those memories took place here in Baltimore, and they produced me,” she exposes in her mini-doc about the tune. “The excellent and the growing.” Highlighting the track's reflective nature, Ward states, “The tune was initially composed as a method to call myself out,” keeping in mind that “the composing takes you through a world of self-pity and increasing from the ashes.”
