THE Manila Times on Wednesday got the “Kabalikat” award from the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DoST-Pcieerd) throughout the company's 13th anniversary and launch of the Philippine Innovation Expo at the Manila Hotel.
News editor Danton Remoto, representing the paper, got the citation from DoST-Pcieerd Executive Director Dr. Enrico Paringit for the story “DoST-Pcieerd contends for intl science engagement development award” that included the council's election to the Falling Wells Engage competitors.
Other media Kabalikat recipients consist of BusinessMirror, science reporter Chariss Luci-Atienza, and GMA News public affairs reveal “iJuander.”
“It will be best for us to have media clothing that can share our info to the areas, as we understand how tough it is to describe science and innovation [to the wider public],” Paringit stated.
