Last Sunday, on January 7, a Twitter user published that they discovered an iPhone in a bush that had actually fallen from Alaska Airlines Flight 1282. The iPhone appeared to be intact.

Thanks to The Verge, we understand the phone flew off the airplane soon after removing. This had actually occurred due to the fact that an area of the fuselage broke off of the airplane, which led the pilot to make an emergency situation landing at Portland International Airport. When the fuselage broke off, 2 phones flew out of the aircraft. The very first phone was discovered in a backyard.

The user discovered the 2nd one, and they published a series of images on X/Twitter recording what they discovered. The tweet checks out:

“Found an iPhone on the side of the roadway … Still in plane mode with half a battery and open up to a luggage claim for #AlaskaAirlines ASA1282. Made it through a 16,000 foot drop completely undamaged!”
