Train ignites near Tanah Merah

A KTMB Ekspres Rakyat Timuran guest train taking a trip from Tumpat to Johor Baru ignited at Taman Tasek Kiara, Tanah Merah, last night.

Tanah Merah Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Zulkifli Osman stated the station looked out to the occurrence at 10.36 pm, and dispatched 12 firemens in 2 trucks from Tanah Merah and Machang stations were hurried to the scene.

“Firefighters were at the scene by 10.39 pm and they discovered the engine on fire, which was brought under control by 11pm,” he stated in a declaration.

The train motorist was hurt and was required to Tanah Merah Hospital for treatment.

“No guests were harmed, while the reason for the fire is still under examination,” he included.– Bernama, March 3, 2023.
